GAPNA Releases New Gerontology Resources for APRNs
Two new valuable resources for APRNs have been published by GAPNA: Gerontology Resources for APRNs in Acute and Emergent Care Settings (1st edition) and Gerontology Resources for APRN Preceptors and Students (6th edition).
Both resources are available as free downloads from the links above.
Gerontology Resources for APRNs in Acute and Emergent Care Settings (Acute Care Resource Guide) provides easily accessible geriatric and gerontological content to those caring for older adults in higher-acuity care settings.
It is designed with APRN students, preceptors, clinicians, and educators in mind, and to provide a single portal to comprehensive resources. This Acute Care Resource Guide is alphabetically organized by acute and emergent care topics, and includes links to websites and videos available publicly.
Gerontology Resources for APRN Preceptors and Students includes geriatric and gerontological content for those caring for older adults. It is designed with APRN students, preceptors, and educators in mind, and it provides a single portal to comprehensive resources. The toolkit is organized by primary care topics and includes links to websites and mobile device applications (apps) in the public domain.
The toolkit was developed by gerontological APRNs to provide an open access practice resource for integration of geriatric knowledge for APRN clinical education, with the goal of improving the quality of health care provided to older adults.
The toolkit has two sections: Gerontological Resources for Healthcare Management and Preceptor Resources.
