POLITICO Shines a Spotlight on Aging in America
POLITICO's new special report, The Agenda: Aging in America, takes a comprehensive deep dive into the biggest barriers to improving the care of older adults, from transportation challenges to the stress experienced by family caregivers to regulatory red tape hindering hospice.
Presented by The John A. Hartford Foundation, the series illustrates how older people in America continue to experience a healthcare system that does not always meet their needs or support vibrancy.
It also explores innovations such as Medicare reforms to use tiered payments rather than one-size-fits-all daily payments, telemedicine to expand physician reach, and refining end-of-life quality markers.
The report coincided with a POLITICO Live event introduced by Terry Fulmer and featuring experts discussing how to make the healthcare delivery system more responsive to older patients with complex needs.
