I came for the continuing education and stayed for the representation of different APN jobs. If it weren’t for GAPNA I might have thought that there was only one way to be a nurse practitioner. I’ve met so many members with different roles, in various settings, and doing interesting work.

I became active in the GAPNA Gero Psych Sig and was encouraged by Dr. Peraza Smith, to become certified as a Gerontological Specialist and take on leadership roles with the organization. I am excited to start my journey with the GAPNA Leadership Institute in the upcoming months and look forward to my continued future with GAPNA.
