New Article Addition to the Clinical Research Corner - New clinical practice guidelines for palliative care have been released by the National Consensus Project, with support from The John A. Hartford Foundation (JAHF) for the evidence review.

Last month, the Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association (GAPNA) – including Executive Director Michael Brennan, President Valerie Sabol, and President-Elect Deborah Dunn, met with UHG Center for Clinician Advancement’s Sue Mullaney and Jennifer Meyer and UHG External Affairs’ Kelly Davis, Sara Pescatello, and John Prible at 701i, UHG’s Washington, D.C. Innovation Center.

What is it?  GAPNA Exchange is a private, secure community for members to share ideas, ask questions, lend expertise, and network with peers. The community will feature both an Open Forum discussion area along with smaller, segmented communities. Now, you can interact with GAPNA members wherever and whenever you need to.

With the support of The John A. Hartford Foundation and GAPNA, the UCLA Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care program developed The Dementia Care Specialist (DCS) Curriculum. This 22-module online curriculum provides a basic knowledge base for Advanced Practice Nurses who are looking to advance their expertise in caring for patients with dementia.
