The GAPNA Excellence Awards recognize outstanding contributions to gerontological advanced practice nursing. These awards honor individuals and chapters demonstrating excellence in leadership, education, clinical practice, research, community service, and chapter engagement.

Award Categories
Honors a chapter that best promotes the goals of the Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association (GAPNA) through member relationships, professional activities, and promotion of advanced practice gerontological nursing at the local, regional, and/or state level during the past year.
🩺 Excellence in Clinical Practice Award
Recognizes outstanding clinical practice by an individual who demonstrates a commitment to geriatric clinical care.
🤝 Excellence in Community Service Award
Recognizes outstanding community service by an individual who demonstrates a commitment to serving the community.
📚 Excellence in Education Award
Recognizes an individual involved in the teaching and/or design of gerontological nurse practitioner curriculum or course content.
🌟 Excellence in Leadership Award
Recognizes an individual who demonstrates leadership and commitment to advancing gerontological nursing through clinical practice, education, research, or service.
🔬 Excellence in Research Award
Recognizes an individual who demonstrates a commitment to research in nursing that benefits the geriatric community.

To be considered, nominees must be current GAPNA members and meet the criteria outlined for each award.
Self-nominations are welcome.
If you are not a GAPNA member and would like to nominate a GAPNA member for an award, please contact gapna@gapna.org to request a separate submission form.
