Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association names Erin Macartney New Executive Director

We are excited to announce that Erin Macartney has been appointed Executive Director of both the Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association (GAPNA) and the Gerontology Nursing Certification Commission (GNCC).

Erin has been a valued part of our association since 2018, serving as GAPNA’s Association Services Manager and GNCC’s Certification Services Manager. In these roles, she has played a pivotal part in advancing member engagement, streamlining operations, and supporting both the GAPNA Board of Directors and GNCC Commissioners in fulfilling their respective missions.

Moving forward, Erin will focus on strengthening our strategic partnerships, elevating our brand identity, and ensuring that GAPNA and GNCC reflect not only who we are today—but who we aspire to become. She is committed to listening, learning, and assessing our landscape with fresh eyes, while honoring the work and voices that have shaped us.

“GAPNA has felt like a home to me for many years and I’m honored to lead these organizations so deeply committed to advancing the care of older adults,” said Erin. “I look forward to working closely with our dedicated members, volunteers, and partners to build on the incredible foundation already in place.”

Please join us in congratulating Erin on this exciting new chapter!
