This section will make permanent the authorization, originally granted in CARA, for nurse practitioners and physician assistants to prescribe medication assisted treatments (MATs) and will authorize certified nurse-midwives, clinical nurse specialists and nurse anesthetists to prescribe MATs for a five-year period.
