Stephanie Walz, MS, AGPCNP-BC, GS-C, has six years of experience as a nurse practitioner specializing in inpatient geriatric consults on an Acute Care for Elders (ACE) team. Her clinical practice centers on geriatric syndromes, cognitive impairment, and care transitions within a safety-net hospital in Indianapolis.

An active GAPNA member since 2020—the same year she earned her Gerontological Specialist–Certified (GS-C) credential—Stephanie was invited by the Gerontology Nursing Certification Commission (GNCC) to serve as a subject matter expert during the exam’s standard-setting process. She is a member of the Acute and Emergent Care SIG, a GAPNA Leadership Institute Fellow, and is presented her poster, “The Impact of Hearing Impairment on Hospitalized Older Adults,” at the 2025 GAPNA Annual Conference.

In addition to her clinical and professional contributions, Stephanie shares her expertise as a guest lecturer for Purdue University’s Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner program, where she earned her graduate degree.
