Dr. Talley, PhD, ACNP-BC, FNAP, FAANP, FAAN, is a Professor and Associate Dean for Clinical and Global Partnerships in the School of Nursing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). She also serves as Clinical Director of the PATH Clinic, which provides care for medically complex, uninsured adults living with diabetes.
With more than 17 years of experience as a nurse practitioner—13 of those dedicated to diabetes management—Dr. Talley is well versed in the challenges and social determinants affecting vulnerable populations. She shares her expertise and strategies at the local, state, and national levels.
Dr. Talley is board certified as an Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. She earned her BSN from the University of Alabama Capstone College of Nursing, and her MSN and PhD from the UAB School of Nursing.
She currently serves as Treasurer for the Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association (GAPNA) and is the 2025–2026 President-Elect.
