The goal of this Gerontology Resources for APRN Preceptors and Students toolkit is to make geriatric and gerontological content accessible to those caring for older adults. It is designed with advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) students, preceptors, and educators in mind, and it provides a single portal to comprehensive resources. The toolkit is organized by primary care topics and includes links to websites and mobile device applications (apps) in the public domain.
The toolkit was developed by gerontological APRNs to provide an open access practice resource for integration of geriatric knowledge for APRN clinical education, with the goal of improving the quality of health care provided to older adults.
The toolkit has two sections: Gerontological Resources for Healthcare Management; and Preceptor Resources.
Regardless of title or role, advanced practice nurses are leaders and need to assume responsibility for the development of self and other team member's leadership potential. The multi-part Leadership Resource Guide is intended for use by gerontological APRNs to cultivate their leadership potential.

- Core Resources for Leadership: A compilation of resources for the NP leader.
- Ethical/Legal Issues: Ethical and legal issues surrounding NP leadership.
- Leadership Opps and Programs: A concise list of leadership programs and opportunities for nurse practitioners.
- Managing Change: Strategies for NPs to adapt their leadership styles and manage projects that are intended to impact the transformation of health care inclusive of guiding organizations through the change process.
