Gerontological Nursing: Growth, Adaptation, and Change After John A. Hartford Foundation Investments

The John A. Hartford Foundation (JAHF) funded gerontological nursing initiatives for more than 2 decades.

A recent article describes five key nursing initiatives between 1996-2015 designed to prepare a cadre of faculty, clinicians, and researchers in geriatrics/gerontology.

The authors discuss “the impact, adaptation, and change in gerontological nursing resulting from over $86 million in [JAHF] funding,” and review current and future work including the JAHF-funded Age-Friendly Health Systems initiative.
