Historical

The Importance of Annual Reports

By Cindy Gerstenlauer

The Historical Committee gathers and preserves GAPNA documents for the purpose of historical documentation, archiving, and extending the historical panels and monograph every 5 years.

GAPNA is a great advanced practice nursing organization and its many accomplishments not only help advanced practice nursing but work on behalf of older adults to improve their quality of life.

The Historical Committee takes the submitted annual reports and summarizes the Board minutes, Chapter reports, SIG and Committee reports, conferences, the Gerontology Certification Exam, and the Leadership Institute.

We use this information to achieve our objectives. Writing and submitting annual reports are a responsibility of the Chairs. When reports are missing, any accomplishments by that entity are lost and we have holes in the history that are forever gone.

Since the Historical Committee will be doing a final summary of the last 5 years for the 2021 GAPNA 40th Anniversary celebration, it is not too late to submit these reports!

Please send these reports to Erin Macartney (erin.macartney@gapna.org) and she will forward them to the Historical Committee. Thank you for your help! Since 2015, these are the missing reports:
